Dorian leaned back against his desk staring at his father
and uncle. So what are you saying? That I should let Cerita be
bait for that bastard? He demanded incredulous.

bastard to make a move, you should work with Cerita. Avery
held up his hand halting Dorian s protest. One thing about us
Latouche men is that we fall for very strong women. Women
who refuse to sit back and let their men fight all the battles alone
and you have that type of woman in my new daughter. She
doesn t like the fact Warren is trying to hurt you, she doesn t care
that he is trying to use her to do it, only that he is trying to hurt
the man she loves.
Austin chuckled. My new niece fits right in this family, she
reminds me of your mom and your aunt Kim. Stubborn and very
head strong, all we are saying is we should all work together to
come up with a way to let Warren think he is about to get the
opening he s looking for.
Avery nodded, With all of us protecting her there is no way
he can hurt her and I m sure he has no idea of how powerful that
daughter of mine is especially now with your bonding with her
and how it has enhanced her powers. All we are saying for you
to do is talk it over with Cerita and once you guys come to an
agreement, we ll come up with a plan to make sure she is well
protected.
Dorian, are you okay?
Dorian smiled, it still amazed him that his mate was so in
tuned with him. He d seen the way his mother and father and
uncle and aunt were always in tuned with each other and had
wondered if he d ever have that and now he did. I m fine
sweetheart, dad and Uncle Austin stopped by and we were
discussing Warren. Where are you?
I m just leaving the luncheon we had scheduled today and
I m on my way back to the shop with the van and then I m
heading home.
Well as soon as I m done with dad and Uncle Austin I ll be
on my way home. Dorian returned his attention back to his
father and uncle. I ll talk to Cerita about it tonight and we can
all meet this weekend to come up with a way to pull this off.
Ben watched from across the parking lot as Cerita exited
the shop and headed for her car. His eye caught the flash of her
left hand as she opened the door of her car and climbed in. He
waited until she pulled out of the parking lot before following
her. He was determined to find out where in the hell she was
staying since she d sold her apartment. She wasn t staying with
her brother and his snotty wife, maybe she was staying with her
parents. Ben frowned when he noticed her turning into the most
exclusive part of town, where in this neighborhood all of the
homes were twenty plus room mansions. Cerita turned into a
long and winding driveway that led up a hill to a huge castle like
mansion. Ben stopped not wanting her to spot his car following
her. He eased out of the car and walked up the drive taking care
to stay near the trees lining the driveway. He froze when he
thought he heard the sound of another car coming down the
street. Ben decided to come back later after dark or early
tomorrow morning to get a good look around.
Dorian cloaked himself and the car watching as the bastard
crept back to his car. He scanned him briefly touching his mind
making sure to block Cerita from seeing what he was doing. The
bastard did know about her powers and he was being used by
someone else and that someone wanted his mate s powers.
Taking out his phone he called his brother-in-law asking that he
meet him tomorrow at his office. It was time for them to put a
stop to Ben and find out who was pulling his strings.
Cerita met him at the door giving him a big welcome home
kiss. What did dad and Uncle Austin want? she asked taking his
briefcase out of his hand.
They wanted me to talk to you and come up with a plan to
use you as bait to trap Warren. He informed her.
Did they actually say that? Cerita asked surprised.
No, what they said was that you are head strong and
stubborn and determined to have a hand in stopping Warren s
plan. So they suggested you and I talk about it and then
everyone in the family will get together and come up with a plan
where you will be protected.
Cerita threw her arms around his neck as she planted kisses
all over his face. I knew you d come around honey and I know
you will protect me and no harm will come to me at all.
Dorian groaned torn between locking her away to keep her
safe and giving her what she wanted just to make her happy.

Cedrick walked into his brother-in-law s office hoping his
wife would be too occupied to realize that he was blocking her.
We need to make this quick, my mate is going to get really
suspicious when she realizes I m blocking.
Dorian nodded, and gave Cedrick and Anthony what he d
discovered from his quick scan of Cerita s ex.
I think it s his father, Cedrick said once Dorian was
finished. From what my guys can tell me, the old man is the one
pulling Ben s strings. There was an incident some years ago
apparently Ben s father learned about my mother and her being a
descendant of a very powerful and ancient witch. In his mind if
he controlled my mother he could control her powers. In an
attempt to kidnap her he was seriously injured and paralyzed and
now confined to a wheelchair.
